Revised Form I-9 Now Available

October 24, 2017

In an effort to become more user-friendly, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services office (“USCIS”) released a revised version of Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, in July of this year.  All employers must use the revised form starting September 18, 2017.

The revisions are minor, mostly technical changes and renumbering. The one substantive change is employers can now add Consular Report of Birth Abroad (Form FS-240) to List C.

The interactive PDF contains all the “smart I-9” features that were included in the version released early this year.

Click on the link below for the new form along with the revised Handbook for Employers: Guidance for Completing Form I-9 (M-274), which the USCIS has also made easier for employers to navigate.
